As this Southborough, MA couple’s grown children were getting married and having babies, the family was quickly expanding, and the couple was looking for ways to continue to have the whole clan gather together at their residence.
The solution the couple chose was to add a 150-square-foot, screened-in porch to the side entrance that opens to the kitchen; traditionally, the family gathering area.
The porch provides protection from the elements so that everyone can still be together during those family celebrations, no matter what the weather.
The porch is conveniently located in between the kitchen and the backyard grill. When no one is visiting, the couple lounge on the porch, especially at mealtime—keeping an eye on their proteins and veggies cooking on the grill!
